The Ivane Javakhishvili State University of Tbilisi was founded in 1918. Also known as Tbilisi State University (TSU), it is the oldest university in the Caucasian region and Georgia. Starting with only 3 faculties, the university grew up in no time, and nowadays, it has 5 health-related faculties with more than 10,000 students. The university comprises a total of 7 faculties and 200 accredited academic programs in undergraduate, graduate, and Ph.D. degrees among which the faculty of medicine and its program are mostly picked by international students. The medicine program is designed considering the inputs from European experts and has over 100 years of history.
